How much RAM should I dedicate to Minecraft?

I have a cheap laptop 4gb of ram, and Intel(R) HD Graphics with 2118 MB of total memory. Just wanting to know how much RAM I should dedicate to Minecraft.

Most of that 2118 MB is shared system RAM, so you won't be able to dedicate any more than 2 GB without taking any away from Intel HD Graphics.
