Any good sites that I could download minecraft without needing a certin software?

I'm always being told how good minecraft is but when I try download it it says you need to download java for this software and I really want so please help.

Get java(Its free.) and DON't download it from any other sights or your PC will get a virus most likely

Get Java from http://www.java.com/....java.com/ or that can tell you if you already have it and if it is up to date.

If you have 64-bit Windows you might need to also manually install 64-bit Java if you are using an older version of 32-bit Internet Explorer. But I think IE 11.0 in Win7 or newer is now 64-bit on 64-bit systems, so using that to download Java should automatically give you 64-bit Java.

minecraft is a cross platform game that runs in Windows, Mac, or Linux (on Linux openjdk-jre works as java). Although, for Windows there may be an exe launcher, minecraft itself runs in a Java virtual machine.

Note that cracked (pirated) minecraft versions will not work on regular minecraft servers. So you should only download it from minecraft.net.
