Here goes, I have the Raedon HD 7750 2GB GPU. AMD FX 6300 CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and Windows 8.1. Just tonight, only tonight my PC would freeze then go back to the desktop whenever I play FC3, BO2, Skyrim, Minecraft (in full screen). I makes the games unplayable and I have to restart my PC. Can someone help?
AMD Display Driver keeps crashing?
I had this happen once with a ATI video card on an ASUS MB, I returned it and got one with more memory and it worked fine. Some motherboards don't like some video cards, I like ATI but their drivers are persnickety on some platforms.
First, uninstall your existing Catalyst video drivers and try re-installing the latest v14.4 drivers. If that doesn't work I would consider doing is getting the AMD "Clean Uninstall Utility". I have found that some drivers have issues with parts of older drivers hanging around. A clean sweep of all the drivers and then do a re-install using the latest v14.4 drivers. Just be cautious as it will remove everything that's an AMD driver including SATA controllers, USB drivers and RAID drivers if they are run by AMD!
Otherwise, you sure your video card is getting enough air to cool down and enough voltage to run? I had a Radeon 6870 that on boot would draw more power than the power supply could give. It would always crash when the desktop loaded until I picked-up a stronger power supply. Now it works just fine.
