All of my minecraft items disappered, but?

Ok so all of my items disappeared from my world because I logged into my 1.8 snapshot world with 1.7.9 and every item I placed inside a chest or in my inventory is gone. That's not my question though. I want to know if all of the items inside the chests of dungeons and temples are now emptied as well. I, for one, think they will not be emptied because they are a part of the worlds natural generation, but I really want a second opinion.
