But there are some weird people out there sometimes. Well the server owners, admins, mods can get your ip and they can get where you live from that but its not acuret ware you live on there but you can use a VPN to protect your ip and it will change your ip they can ddos you if you don't have a vpn a dos is when they send traffic to your router so it gets really slow and it most likely will shut down but if that happens unplug your router for 5 mins so i really recommend using VPN It is safe, if your worried just go on bigger servers like mineplex and hypixel. I have played for a long time (Since 2012) and I haven't had any issues, and all I play is servers!
