In all seriousness, though, if you got it off a reputable site and scanned it for malware it should be fine. If you're concerned about it, don't install it.

Too many items is a safe mod

I only download the mainstream Minecraft mods, the ones that everyone uses. It's hard to trust the ones that nobody uses because you don't know why anyone is using it. Do they not know about it, or are people avoiding it because it's not safe?

Use this same logic when contemplating downloading mods.
