M playing the recent updated version on my mac (Version 1.11.2). And I noticed how you can go to "launch options", so I added a new version, (version 1.8.1) and when I entered my world, all my stuff in my chests disappeared, including my wolves and paintings.So I reverted back to the 1.11.2 update and everything is still gone.
Can anyone help me on this matter?

If the files are gone, they're gone. BUT, it's possible you might can find them somewhere in there.
Check the.minecraft folder.
