All the time I have been playing minecraft vanilla. No mods. I have been using my email instead of my username to login. Well today I decided to download tekkit. And it requires you to login with your username. I couldn't then I tried to login to vanilla minecraft. I could using my email but not my user name. Yes I have minecraft the paid version and on pc.
Why can't I use my username to login to minecraft?

Using your email for Tekkit should work fine, it does for me. When you migrated your account to Mojang it changed logging in with your username to your email to make things more secure. There isn't a way to reverse that unfortunately.
