I recently bought a copy of Minecraft for my new windows 8 PC, and installed the latest version of the game (1.7.4) and launcher (1.3.7), and whenever I click on play, it loads the game, opens the game itself, shows the Mojang logo and closes the minecraft window, opening the launcher again. Please help me with this as I loved playing Minecraft on my old PC and would really appreciate a solution to this problem, or at least to know that this problem is happening to everybody and that Mojang will soon release an update/patch for this problem.

Make sure that Java and everything is installed correctly. If that doesn't work try navigating to C://Users/yourusername&#x… And deleting that folder. (This deletes all the minecraft data). Then just run the game again and it should work. If it doesn't try looking around the Minecraft forums or try to google search it.
