Is an Alienware 18 good for this?

What I plan on doing:
-Buy and play games on Steam
-Play and download other online games. (specifically MineCraft)
-Play DVD games. (Spore, Skyrim, Saints Row IV, etc.)
-Record the gameplay footage without lag. (Fully paid Fraps)

Would that specific laptop be able to do all of those with the current specs?

If you are going to buy a 2000 dollar computer, you can play pretty much any game. I would see you getting around 100-250 fps games on those 3D Ram Consuming Games and even 350 fps on minecraft. Its a very nice laptop and it should work very well.

My single-770m Alienware17 can do all that.

so yeah, a dual-770m AW18 will be overkill, in a good way.
