My daughter has it on Xbox which also loaded onto her PC but it is not the PC version she is wanting. I guess the PC version is more sophisticated with more modes than Xbox's version. I have found numerous sights with it available for free and some with full versions at a cost but none that look safe. Or can Xbox update to the better PC version?
What is the best way to get Minecraft for PC?
Did you try Minecraft.net? You know, their official web page.
Nope lol
The console version and the PC version are not the same, and the console version will never have the same options or features that the PC has.
First up, the console versions of Minecraft is separate from the standard PC version & sold separately. This is mostly because of how they're coded. The standard PC version is built on Java & the console versions are using more proprietary code.
Second, there's 2 PC versions that are available from Mojang & Microsoft…
* "Standard PC" version ($27) -- This is available directly at Minecraft.net & does require you to have a Mojang account. This is the official version that has pretty much all the bells & whistles that the game contains in additional massive multiplayer world supports (requires separate software, but can support over 8 players in a world) & is usually the first to get official updates.
* "Windows 10" Edition ($10, Free for owners of the PC version WHILE IN BETA) -- This version, which is available ONLY through the Windows Store in Windows 10, is somewhat of a hybrid version that's more in-line with the console versions than the official PC version. It's geared to connect to both the Pocket Edition (on Android & iOS) & XBox Live versions (eventually… This may not be fully implemented at time of post).
If you have the Standard PC version of the game, you can request a download code for the Windows 10 version from the Mojang website (you'll need to log into your Mojang account for this) to get this from the Windows Store FOR FREE. This offer is only good while the Windows 10 Edition is still in beta… So once a "final" version gets released, this offer will expire… But you can still purchase it separately if you like as well.
The best way to get the most up-to-date PC version of Minecraft, you will want to grab the Minecraft Launcher from Minecraft.net as it'll grab any updates that are officially launched (or the latest snapshots, if you're into the bleeding edge stuff… Assuming you don't mind the bugs) without any unwanted extras.
Pirating Minecraft is definitely NOT recommended since pirated versions can include unwanted extras (viruses, malware & other potentially nasty stuff), easily outdated & has limited online support… Since most public Minecraft servers don't allow "Non-Premium" users (people who haven't paid for the game) access as a standardized anti-trolling measure (although server owners can be using a non-standard server like Bukkit for additional anti-trolling tools).
Use Minecraft.net and make an account, they are the 'makers' of Minecraft, its safe. If you live in the uk, its £20. If not, just search £20 in us dollars. Lol, good luck to your daughter
Go to minecraft.net to get an account for her and to buy the PC edition, but there are always other options, like the console editions, Windows 10 Beta edition and Pocket Edition for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
