Should I buy the Xbox 360?

If you're only planning on getting it for a limited amount of games, you can get it for REAL cheap. Just focus on a low storage console that you could find on Amazon or Ebay and buy the games at a used game store like gamestop.

If you aren't planning on buying tons of games, I would only recommend the Xbox if you want the feel of a console over that of a PC. Both minecraft and skyrim have more to offer in PC, both in mod and content wise. Xbox minecraft requires players that you've already played with before unless you plan on only doing split screen, but trust me it's much more fun with other people. In PC you may join servers where people are already playing just to build, as well as the awesome PVP they have. The only thing is; with a PC you would want to go with a more expensive one capable of standing your gaming, which might break the budget since you say you want the Xbox because it's cheaper. So your decisions stands at; more content and better game play, but more money (not that much more). OR; less content, hope your friends have Xbox and minecraft so they can play with you, but a cheaper way to play.

The Minecraft on 360 rarely gets updated, I would go for buying a gaming laptop/PC, If you have a PC right now it's not difficult to install a graphics card, check out steam or something

Cheap? Ha, Ha. Well give more consideration. If you look around there seem to be many more Players with Xbox problems asking for help than the PS3. Plus, Xbox wants you to pay for extras that are free with the PS3. [Xbox Live, Gold]

Do some actual research into them, rather than just asking.

It's not worth it for those two games the xbox is slow it lags it crashes it so unreliable I have an xbox 360 and I would trade it in for a ps3 way way more reliable free online and blue ray what's not to love about ps3

The Xbox 360 is great with a massive variety of games. However Minecraft on the 360 is extremely limited compared to PC (or now XB1 and PS4 versions.) Skyrim is amazing, if you have the hardware it is definitly better on PC.

The question is how many games are you intending to play. If it is just for 2 its probably not worth it. However if you want to play heaps of different games it is definitly worth it. Heaps of great games for crazy cheap along with the games with gold programme (2 free games every month when you are subscribed to Xbox Live Gold.) I have almost 100 games for my 360 but only for 2 (although Skyrim could last you 1000 hours on its own) its probably not worth it. (forever better than PS3 though…)

I would also suggest you to drop the idea of Xbox as both games are can be played on PC with much ease. If you are not a gaming freak, then investing in Xbox would be a waste of money, even if its cheap.

I recommend getting a PC if you are looking for games such as Skyrim and Minecraft that are already on PC; usually the PC version is a lot better due to more customization; mods and able to multitask more.
However if you're looking for more titles like RPGs; Tales of Vesperia or maybe an exclusive like Gears of War. Then maybe a 360 would be more considerable.
