I've decided my best bet is to turn toward getting a old (I think i7 is overkill) Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop with the i5 processor. Can this do the following: run minecraft at 25+ fps.
Use VMware fusion to run a windows environment. And lastly, use iMovie to make awesome videos.
Would this meet my expectations for a school laptop?

Is too much for a school laptop

Look man, my school laptop has a core 2 and 3gb ram. Now, what you're calling a "school" laptop there's in reality just a above average laptop, yeah you can make videos, you'll be able to play minecraft fine(with low settings of course, its a laptop lol) and jesus, of course you'll be able to type any paper you'll ever need. Thats super overkill for a school laptop, FYI. A school laptop is used for word processing, research and presentations. NOT videos and minecraft.

I wouldnt buy a used computer. And i wouldnt use mac. There's a reason macs last so long. They are so simplistic and the main reason so little software is written for mac.
