Why does Captain Sparklez get around 400k views per video if he has 8M Subscribers?
Why does Captain Sparklez get around 400k views per video if he has 8M Subscribers?
There are many reasons why someone would subscribe to a channel without watching most of their videos. Here are some:
- They subscribed for a specific series or type of content. Say, someone might have subscribed to CaptainSparklez because they love his Minecraft Let's Play series, so they will ignore anything else he uploads.
- They used to enjoy his content, but have grown away from it or doesn't feel they have the time to watch his videos anymore. Most people losing interest often won't bother unsubscribing, thinking they mind find interest/time in the future.
- Their front page is swamped with content and they can't see when CaptainSparklez has uploaded a video.
- Inactive accounts. Accounts the users forgot the password to, or the user lost interest in YouTube completely or whatever.
- They were recommended the channel (by friend or YouTube itself) and subscribed, but hasn't quite find the interest to watch any of the videos yet.
Basically, what it boils down to: It's easier to subscribe than unsubscribe. Most people will rather just ignore a channel's videos than unsubscribe.
