Why do people keep asking for Minecraft 2?

Because companies like EA have been pushing sequels for years, and so many people see a large 'upgrade' to a game in the sequel.

The people mostly crying for Minecraft 2 really just want a bunch of upgrades, particularly graphics, all at once.

There's no need for minecraft 2, people are just obsessed with getting the same game but labeled as a sequel.

The people asking (probably more towards demanding it) for Minecraft too are idiots because nearly every game had pumped out sequels many times… But a problem with that is, like you said, Minecraft is pretty much under an "endless development" because it's basically pushing what can be done on Java.

Add that with Mojang basically supporting Minecraft community to develop mods for the game.

I don't understand it either because the game doesn't have a story besides any Adventure Maps made by the Minecraft Community. I've even seen some people complain and even make petitions to have Mojang STOP updating Minecraft because they were apparently getting fed up with Updates causing server worlds to go down and get updated, which is worse for any modded servers.
