Which desktop computer is better?

I'm trying to breakdown these computers in order to get the best one also, I plan on playing games such as Quake, Minecraft, and some other games like that. I basically use it for normal use with web-surfing and I want an extremely fast computer that opens up programs in a snap. I would use Microsoft Office programs as well. Basically I never want to see the "Program not responding" I want everything to load correctly without issues. I have two Dell desktops that I find have the highest specs and two HP's. I'm not too smart when it comes to technical details of a computer such as the Intel Core and the Hard Drive and the GB Memory. Both of these Desktops run Windows 8.1 (Which I want)

Dell

($839.99) Dell - XPS Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 1TB(1,000GB) Hard Drive
($729.99) Dell - XPS Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 12GB Memory - 1TB(1,000GB) Hard Drive

HP

($749.99) HP - ENVY Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 12GB Memory - 2TB(2,000GB) Hard Drive
($719.99) HP - Pavilion Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive

"Basically I never want to see the "Program not responding" "

That is the fault of the operating system and the program, it has nothing to do with the quality or power of the computer.

You could have a 50 million dollar supercomputer and still have that problem the same as on a desktop from 1995, if the program deadlocks itself or spins into an infinite loop. There's *literally* nothing you can do about that from a hardware standpoint, as that problem is completely within software.

As for desktops, both Dell and HP make poor quality computers. For those prices, they don't even list the graphics card, which means they either are using a **** graphics card (and therefore, can't play games) or are using integrated graphics (which also can't play games).

Here's a desktop in your price range with a good graphics card, good processor, Windows 8.1, everything you want.

All you need is to pick out a monitor.

I'm using my uncle's desktop here. It is a Dell XPS 8500 and he had Dell build it to his specifications. It is lightning fast. When you click on anything it is open instantly.
Here is what spec's I know it has.
Intel core i7 3.40 GHz processor
12 GB of ram
2 TB hard drive
20" wide screen monitor
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
1 TB external hard drive.

I'd go with the HP Pavilion. The HDD is only 500GB but that's something you can always upgrade for like $50. You wouldn't need more than 8GB's depending on what you're doing and an i7 is great.

Apple or Dell
