What is causing windows 7 to freeze on my new SSD?

Computer Specs:
Motherboard: nForce 680i sli
GPU: 1GB Galaxy Geforce GT 630
Ram total: 6GB also made by OCZ

Hard Drives:
WD 1TB
OCZ Vertex 460 SSD

I've tried editing windows with regedit with a tip that said could fix it, but it didn't. As for the freezes… It's harder to pin point what the real cause is cause it freezes from simple programs to when running video games, like 7 days to die or after just closing minecraft and other times, it crashes when just starting to open google chrome or a folder.

Galaxy is a cheap Chinese brand. I had a Galaxie GT 430 and it started having issues in both Win7 and Linux shortly after its 1 year warranty expired. In Win7 at that point it started freezing and then Windows would say video stopped responding, but recovered. In Linux occasionally keyboard and mouse clicks would suddenly stop responding completely, although, often the mouse cursor would still move. Eventually I got weird patterns on the screen at times or Linux nvidia module began saying that video was not responding during boot.

I replace the video card with an EVGA GTX 550 Ti with 3 year warranty several years ago and have had no such problems since then.

It could be something else, but that was the issue in my case. I5 650 3.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HD and 80 GB SSD. Running 64-bit Win7 Premium or 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10 at that time (12.04 now). My 1 TB Seagate drive did begin failing sometime later, since replaced with WD 1 TB, but the above freezing issues did not happen at that time, Linux would simply remount its partition read-only to prevent further damage.

Maybe too many files in the computer is causing it to freeze.

After exhausting all options and getting help from another place, I've come to this conclusion: My motherboard simply is not compatible with ANY SSDs as it lacks any support for it period. I've managed to find this out after FINALLY someone helped me do some more research and found this particular problem. This was further found out by looking into its bios and finding out it had no option to change the SATA mode to a mode that would better support the SSD. I couldn't come to this conclusion on my own due to how frustrated I was at the time of asking my question after dealing with the problem three days straight. So I'm now attempting at purchasing a SATA controller card for my computer to see if it will resolve the incompatibility issue. If not, then my only other option is to totally build a new computer. To those of you who replied to this, thank you for trying to help me.
