I've seen other people when making papercrafts (Minecraft, guns etc.) that they don't use normal paper, they use some sort of printable cardboard, and i want to check if it is card stock. Is it card stock that they use?

Card stock, or Bristol or Index.
Card stock is thin and smooth on both sides, Bristol is a bit thicker and a rougher surface, while Index is about as thick but smoother. Might be best to check out samples at office or paper place or just buy some and keep notes of what you like.
