Sometimes i feel like i want to make a let's play, but in a blind let's play there's so much downtime and idle boring stuff that i want to edit the video to keep the pace moving. My only concern is that i might turn my viewers off if it's too choppy since audio cues and stuff will make the editing obvious.
what do you guys think? I pressume this is a gaming lets play and you want to put it on youtube so I will base my answer off that.
It all depends on the game - something casual like happy wheels or minecraft that doesn't involve any key moments would benefit from editing but don't make it choppy have long clips and cut them off when they start to become dull - however if you are playing something like the waling dead or the last of us there's no way you can take out parts of that because it is such a story based game, same thing with a competetive game llike dota or league of legends - you need to keep all footage of that in the video.
