I have a YouTube gaming channel. I've recorded with OBS, which is a free screen and window recorder. But I want to get an upgrade and use a good program. Should I buy Fraps or Dxtory? I know that SkyDoesMinecraft and CaptainSparklez use Dxtory, but PewDiePie uses Fraps.
Which one should I get? (price matters a little)
I upload Minecraft, COD, Skyrim, Left 4 Dead 2, Battlefield, and maybe LoL eventually.
I personally use fraps and its really good, the only bad thing is the recordings take up a lot of space (But you can delete them when you upload them), the frames are fairly good, I record in 1080p and my FPS only drops about 30 from when i'm not recording. You start recording by pressing F9, and stop by pressing F9, so that's easy to do. I haven't used Dxtory, so I couldn't tell you about that, sorry.
I use Bandicam and I'm pretty happy with it. It has a lot of options when it comes to resolution, codec etc. And it has presets for YouTube. It encodes the video while it records, so the files are very small yet still great quality.
