Should I buy a gaming laptop?

I was wondering if I should spend a few hundred and buy a cheaper gaming computer. I play games like the sims 4, yandere simulator, minecraft, and others. I have a mac right now and it's really hard to run any of these games. I'm not a hardcore gamer so I don't need a fancy laptop for really high tec games. But I would really like a laptop that can manage some games and do normal things like work or school on it. I can't go out spending 1000 on a computer, I have a max price of maybe 400. Any suggestions?

You should not.

Thermal throttling is not a joke.

Gaming laptops r nice but usually expensive $$$$$!

Macs are not ideal for gaming and are quite pricey.
a decent Windows gaming PC starts around $500.

Although a small bit over your price range, the Dell Inspiron gaming laptop is the way to go last I checked. Make sure it has an Intel processer and a dedicated (preferably Nvidia) graphics card. Pick one up used or refurbished off Amazon.

$400 could easily buy a desktop that can run those games.
But you'd have to pay at least twice that to get a laptop with similar gaming performance.

But if you want a gaming laptop, you'll need to find one with a dedicated video card. Websites like Newegg will let you pick specific specs, like having a video card, and max $400, etc so it makes it a lot easier to find the exact laptop you need.

What I would do is start researching the hardware requirements for the games you want to play, then get a computer that meets those requirements. Those you listed have pretty low hardware requirements.
