Why do I keep getting this error message for my Minecraft Tekkit Classic server?

I made, or attempted to make a Minecraft Tekkit Classic server but when I start up the launch.bat file, after it loads up all of the information it should it starts showing me the error message:
"Disconnecting /114.108.214.248:63591:
Protocol error /114.108.214.248:63591 lost connection"

I don't know why. I have all of my Java applications up to date and I followed the instructions carefully. My computer is a Windows 8 Acer, has 500 GB of hard drive, an i5 processor, 6 GB of RAM and is a 64 bit operating system. I'm running Minecraft version 1.7.4 on my minecraft account and I'm running Tekkit Classic 3.1.2 as my server.
