So I've had this minecraft account since 2014. The email I registered it with is now deactivated. Everything was fine until I accidentally clicked "secure account" on my account page. Since I don't have access to my email, I obviously can't secure it. My security questions aren't setup either. So now I try to join servers and am met by the fact that they don't allow "cracked accounts." I can't deactivate my account and make a new one until my email is secured so what do I do to be able to play again?

You'll have to contact Mojang for assistance & provide some proof that you're the rightful owner.
This part will be an uphill battle on your end, as the burden of proof falls upon you. If you have like a receipt, transaction number, original purchase method like a credit card or nearly anything that could be construed as some type of paper trail link said account to you for this.
Without concrete proof, it'll fall upon more circumstantial evidence (like IP address logs, login detail logs, ect.) & the mercy of Mojang to assist you in fully recovering the account.
