I have 1.7.9 Cracked and know of a few servers, if you like factions there a good server called CoreCraft that is only factions, the ip is: pvp.corecraft.me
if you want to do other things like hunger games or creative or whatever, there's also Mc Haze, the ip is: play.mc-haze.com
as far as i have found, seeing as how i just got cracked 1.7.9, these are my two favs. Hope this helped. And your friend should be able to get on these servers just fine
