However its saying that i can't join it because the server is out of date i have tried other ones but they are all saying the same.

Most servers are running 1.7.10 update, however if you're operating on 1.7.10 but the sever still runs 1.6.4 than that error may appear. Make sure your running the same version before attempting to join a server. You can change the version on the launch page, lower left edit, choose version you wish to run. Or try 1.7.10 version and attempt to join "creativefun.eu" in the server address(this is the only off top of my head server I can remember that I join to build my plot)
