I can't play multiplayer minecraft at home, but i can elsewhere. Why? What can i do to fix it?

When I attempt to join a server it says: Can't connect to server. But when I'm using internet somewhere else besides home I'm able to connect. What can I do to fix this?

Make sure your router is allowing connections on port 25565.
