How to set up a minecraft server using at&t uverse on a computer that isn't connected to the modem?

Please Help I really want to host my own minceraft server so that my friends and I can play some minecraft together.

I use MC Pro Hosting -- while there's a small fee, I've found it's easier to use than messing around and trying to do technical stuff myself… And they're pretty cheap too!
