I have been playing tekkit for a good while now and i was wanting to play with other people in servers such as the ones on Planetminecraft. I know how to on Minecraft, but is it the same? What all do i need to do to join one?

Yes, it is almost the same as joining a server with vanilla… You need to get an ip for a tekkit server that is the same as yours (just Google tekkit servers) then enter the ip as if you were doing it in vanilla minecraft
