How to get my minecraft back to normal?

A couple weeks ago or something, something happened to my minecraft game on my windows 8 laptop. I didn't do anything at all, I was just logging onto one of my worlds and then BAM everything is extremely small. Well not everything, all the blocks and people look the same but the experience bar, food bar, heart bar, chat, menus, and option stuff is all small. I can't tolerate it anymore. I can't ever read any chat stuff and i really need to be able to see it so I can play servers and not be totally clueless. It's really annoying. I tried downloading minecraft again but nothing changed. I look at the minecraft website but didn't see anything for my kind of problem. Please help, I don't know what to do.
