My friend has gotten a server recently. And someone has beem stealing from and destroying houses. He doesn't have that much staff. And i'm the head cop/dectective. So i've been trying to make plans to catch them. Nobody knows i'm a cop yet i'm working under cover. I've only come up with one plan… Msg people and ask if they want to grief a house with me.

First off, you should learn how to spell if you have the high rank of "Minecraft Cop"
Secondly, find out the name and have him banned and if there isn't a set of rules, make one.

Surprising you managed to get a server up but not know how to catch people. You can install CoreProtect into your plugins folder and it keeps logs of chat, block placement, block breakage, commands etc. That is if you have Bukkit installed.
If you toss me the server IP i can get on there and help you protect your server from griefers. Not asking for anything either just to help
