How to access 192.168.1.1?

I'm trying to add a server to my minecraft on pc, but every time I type in 192.168.1.1 into my search bar it comes up with how to hack it but I just want to set up a server so I can play with my friends. Can you please help me and I will be so greatful.

Looks like you have some MAJOR knowledge gaps that need to be filled.

You might have looked at a video or read something in which someone connects to 192.168.1.1, as that is the device which is hosting the Minecraft server in that situation. Typing that IP address into your address bar would only work if that device was hosting a web server on TCP port 80.

Before you even consider hosting any kind of server, learn about networking (IP addresses, transport layer protocols etc).

What are you trying to access at 192.168.1.1, and if so, why would you put that in a "search" bar instead of the "location" bar? If you are trying to access your router or gateway it might or might not have that IP address. To find out your router IP address in Windows open a command window (or search for and run cmd.exe) and type: ipconfig

Whatever shows as gateway is your router's LAN IP (assuming you are on a home network). Once you connect to your router with a web browser you need to forward TCP port 25565 to the LAN IP of your minecraft server.

But that assumes that you have a working minecraft server that you can connect to using its LAN IP address from a minecraft client running on a different computer than the server. If that does not work, nobody from the internet would be able to access it. "Open to LAN" in the minecraft client will not work as a public server because that ends up with a different random port every time it runs.

You would also need enough "upload" speed on your internet connection for more than a couple of people to connect to your minecraft server.

192.168.1.1 goes into your browsers address bar. If you are on the same subnet as it, you will get to its login page.

It's your router login.
