Hosting a minecraft server?

I want too make and host my own bukket server but I'm not sure about it because I'm afraid that it will ruin my Internet and I don't have my dads promission to make a server so if it does screw my Internet and use alot of Internet I will get in trouble, so we get like 200-400 GB per month or something, so would that be enought GB to host a server for a month how much GB would the server use per month and when I close or turn off the server will it continue too use GB or will it stop please answer these questions it would help alot and tell me any more info I should know and my Internet speed test results where

Honestly if you're concerned about your internet speeds and hosting and everything like that, I'd go with a hosting service.

I currently use MC Pro Hosting. It's great because I don't have to deal with any of the hard parts of server hosting. I really recommend it. From your question you sound kinda young -- since there's a small fee from MC Pro, Ask your dad what simple chore you can do once or twice a week as "commission" (or payment) for you to get your own server.
