Can't connect to server. Minecraft?

So I've been playing Minecraft for about a year now and this hasn't ever happened before until now, I can login successfully and play single player and all but whenever I go on multiplayer, all of the servers I play on (I do not own a server) were pinging for a while and a few minutes later all of them say "Can't connect to server." And when I try to join the server, after a few minutes it says, "Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutExce… I've turned my Wi-Fi off and on, redownloaded minecraft, rebooted my laptop, refreshed the servers a billion times, but nothing seems to ever work. Its been happening for the past 2 weeks. And yes, I'm 100% positive that all of the servers are open and I'm not banned. I've also tried to connect to the servers using minechat but that doesn't even work either. It does the same exact thing that my laptop does. I'm not sure if its my internet itself, my Wi-Fi is working perfectly fine. I've tried playing Minecraft at a friends house with different Wi-Fi to see if anything would change. It did for only about 10 minutes then it did the same thing that happened when I tried connecting with my own Wi-Fi. Could it be possible for my Minecraft account to be hacked? I'm so confused. Please help! This has been happening for 2 weeks with no change.

It's most likely your internet. Check its connection and if you have access to play on multiplayer servers. Also please specify if you are on a PC or Mac, but in most cases if you can't connect to server, you should check your internet and if anything changed about it for the period of time in which the problem occurred
