Promoting new youtube channel?

Yea I agree with you don't advertise on other peoples channels it only gets you hate. A good way to promote your channel is to colab with someone who has a few more subscribers. It gives you more interesting content to post, a way to promote your channel and meet someone to help you with youtube.

Do not go to other videos with the "Hi I'm so and so and check out my channel" unless you want to kill any chances of getting noticed on YouTube.

What you want to do is first focus on your videos. Make them the highest quality you can with what you have available. If your going to be speaking in them spend some time developing your YouTube personality to help better attract interest from subscribers.

I would also suggest spending some time looking up video promotion and SEO (search engine optimization) tricks. There are lots out there and a little bit of searching will help you come up with all sorts of ideas.

The main thing though is upload videos on a consistent basis, have the best quality content you can make, and seek out other YouTubers who have similar interests. It'll take time but if you keep doing that it'll start to pay off.
