Is there only one biome to each world in Minecraft PS3?

I have searched the whole map (or seemingly so) and come to the edge of snow biome islands and see nothing but ocean in the distance? This link is an image of my map: Is there only one biome to each world in Minecraft PS3 . Am I stuck or should I use a boat to explore? Also, WHY ARE THERE NO OTHER BIOMES?!

Biomes can be very large, but there are multiple biomes in every world. You just need to travel far enough that a new biome generates.
