How to make a map in minecraft?

I'm just wonder what the ingredients are to make it.

Added (1). I'm doing this on the new ps3 eddition.

It's a compass surrounded by paper.
I believe you make a compass by making a cross of gold but replacing the center with a red stone.

Just take a compass, put it into the centre square on the crafting table, and surround it using paper (made by placing 3 sugar cane in the bottom row)

If your using PS3 then the ingredients are found in the crafting table. Just scroll through until you find it.
