How do people level up so quickly in Call of Duty?

Are some people so good that they level up pretty quickly? I have a PS3 and use to play. I played Black Ops for some months and got to 2nd prestige in a little less than a year, but some people make it look so easy. I played MW3 in 2012 for about 5 months and didn't even get to the first prestige. MW3 was more confusing as well. Obviously if you have better guns and everything, you're gonna get more kills, but still, some people get there so quickly.

I mostly play GTA, Minecraft & LBP2 now, but i'm thinking of getting the new call of duty(i don't have black ops 2 or ghosts). I don't know though cause i sort of suck. It feels like i killed 10 people but then the match ends and it turns out i killed 4 lol

It's just practice man, first person shooters take a while to get good at, the more you play the better you get and the quicker you level up. The people you're referencing though are likely these hard core gamers that get the game from the midnight release and play 24 hours a day for the next few weeks. And of course there are also the hackers and boosters.

Keep an eye out for double xp weekends, try to complete challenges to earn extra xp, if you are not that good at getting kills then go on some objective game modes such as domination where you will get xp for capturing and defending flags and if you equip a lock on rocket launcher as your secondary when you are playing keep an eye out for UAV/spy planes because if you blow one of them up you will get like the same amount of xp that you would have for a kill, you get even more xp if you blow up things like attack choppers but they tend to take more rockets. These tips should help you rank up quicker but as time goes on you will get better it just takes practice and your reflexes will get quicker so try to turn your controller sensitivity up bit by bit., it takes a while to get used to but its worth it.

Yes, it is because the more people you are able to kill the faster you level up and they usually play that same game over and over again and a lot. I like playing different games because i get bored of playing the same game for too long
