On an iphone i can search for and dowload it with its normal limited options. But i just got a new android phone after my iphone broke and i can't find the free demo version on the google play app store. Why was it taken off? If so is there anyway to still download it on an android phone?

It was taken off because Mojang thinks it sucks and they found that it gave MC and MCPE a bad image among the consumers because there were way too little items with no saves (if you can pull off an amazing build and you don't wanna screenshot 3-4 hours of of your day were just wasted). If I were you I'd just buy the full version(The new update is AMAZING).
