Okai so it's been a couple of months since I played minecraft so I decided to play today, and when I did there was no sounds:/ like when I hit things there's no sound, there's no sound when I walk, when I place things, etc. I also tried using a resource pack but there's no sound either… I already checked the volume in the settings, restarted minecraft AND my computer, and yeah, so can anyone tell me how to fix this?

It's a sound bug. Usually it takes a few minutes to kick in the sounds (10min or less). I have experienced this countless of times back in the older versions, but it's a minor hindrance. You call go afk if you want then come back to it.

Save a copy of your worlds and then force update Minecraft via the launcher.
