Please I need an answer i'll make it as easy as possible for you, if you happen to not understand. I switched from the new minecraft launcher to the older one, and I want to download mods on the old minecraft. I had deleted the entire.minecraft file and and the new minecraft. I downloaded the older minecraft game with the old launcher. I downloaded forge installer for 1.5.2 and every time i want to install it into the client it tells me, "The directory is missing a launcher profile. Please run the minecraft launcher first". I did that several times and before I even opened forge, so what's the problem? I even have a screen shot. Thanks!

Open up the launcher and make a profile. Once you log in you should see options to create a profile down on the bottom. Close the launcher and run the installer. Now re-open the installer and select the profile that says "forge" on it. Then play…
Also make sure that you are using the 1.7.2 Forge installer. Couldn't tell if that was a typo but always use the forge version compatible with the version you are trying to play.
