Why can't I download a minecraft mod?

I've TRIED EVERYTHING!
i downloaded the latest forge, got a mods folder from it, dragged pixelmon and orespawn files in to the mods folder, changed my game version to forge, and did literally EVERYTHING! It keeps on saying 3 mods! What do i do?

Not all mods are compatible with the latest version of Forge, you need to check the mods wiki/website for the recommended minecraft and forge version. As far as I know Orespawn can only go up to 1.6.4, not sure what forge version is recommended.
