Where can i download.minecraft/assets/objects?

Recently, I updated my minecraft to 1.7.4, when it started downloading files for.minecraft/assets/objects, almost everything it downloads say "[hh: mm: ss WARN] Couldn't download etc…". I thought I should download it manually but it will take forever to download everything. It will launch minecraft and I'm able to play it normally, BUT I can't play 1.6.x versions wherein i want to use some mods because of the frigging error. Anyone knows how to fix this?

What you need to do is move your.minecraft folder OUT of AppData, then run the installer/updater. Then copy your saves and stuff back individually.

if a mod was meant for an older version though, you will need to remove the 1.7 install and install the older Minecraft. That's the only way to get it to work if it doesn't work with 1.7.
