Minecraft mod pack suggestions?

Forever Stranded is sort of a skyblock that isn't a skyblock. You have crash landed on a desert world with no serious resources and an overabundance of monsters (there are cities with loot scattered about, but otherwise the world is almost all sand.) Major modifications include a requirement to drink water and moderate your temperature.

Invasion is much the same, but it has mods the way blocks fall and makes crafting benches breakable.

Age of Engineering is not a skyblock like experience. It also contains full Galactic Craft. The mods are linked together requiring you to progress through certain blocks/items before reaching things that would be much easier in a more standalone mod pack. The overall goal is to craft your way up the 'tech tree' until you hit creative item drawers and have infinite of anything you want.

The Direwolf20 pack is a mixture of tech and magic mods that have deliberately *not* been interconnected. This makes it easier for people not entirely into Minecraft mods mix and match the mods they use.
