Minecraft enchanting plus problem?

So I place the item I want to enchant into the slot and nothing pops up help please I followed the mod installing exactly, used forge if that changes anything.

Is the item vanilla? Some modded items do not play well with other mods. For instance a Mining Laser from IndustrialCraft 2 can't be enchanted, so putting it the enchanting table does nothing. Ditto most DartCraft and Tinker's Construct items because those mods have different ways of enchanting.

Also check to make sure the item is repaired. I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but it might in this case.
