Issues with the Minecraft Battlegear 2 mod and a Forge Server?

I love this mod but I'm having issues with it trying to make a Forge server.
I'm pretty sure I have disabled MUD by using the in-game button and checking the config file.
When I go to connect to my server I have just made I get a message saying 'connection lost' and 'Mod rejections[FMLMod: battlegear2{1.7.10}]'
I have the mod installed on my single-player
I've managed to stop this issue by using the older version of 1.0.5.7 but can I use the latest version without this issue somehow?
I would also like to put this mod on the server - how can I do this?
