Whoever i download a mod for 1.7.10 it downloads as a java file and when i click it to open it. It just says "The Java JAR file "Decocraft-2.2.1_1.7.10-2.jar" could not be opened"
it does that with all my mods (it says different names for different mods, thy don't all say deco craft) what do i do?
Do you have forge and a way to unzipp rar and.zip files?
If I were you, I would go to http://files.minecraftforge.net/...forge.net/
On that site, you can download forge for the Minecraft version you have. Just open the downloader, download forge, and then there should be a "mods" folder in your.minecraft folder, which is located in %appdata%.
Inside the mods folder, put in your mod, the whole jar file, and it should install the mod for you. Just make sure that you download the right version of forge for your mod and your minecraft. Hope this helps!
