I bought minecraft and i'm trying to put mods on iv read every were but not of it works?

Instal minecraftforge for 1.7.2 and you can than put your mods in the mods folder

you will need to play in 1.7.2 but its practicly the same because 1.7.2 was the update where alot of stuff that is in 1.7.9 got put in.
