Its frustrating me! I'm a complete mod noob! I wanna get like build craft, then eventually Galaticraft- but i can't because I can't figure out how to do it! I know i need the most recent things which is 1.7.4/2?
Please someone give a guide on how to do it! Links too would be really helpful! Like WinRAR, explain what it is/does? If you do I will worship you.
To download most mods you need forge, also It makes it 1000 times easier. But you will have to see what mods you want and see what minecraft versions they are (For example a 1.5 mod won't work on 1.6 or 1.4).
steps:
1: see what versions the mods you want are (All have to be the same)
2: download the version of forge the mods are (1.7, 1.6, ETC)
3: install forge and open minecraft with the forge account. (In launcher at bottom left click your name and click forge)
4: close minecraft and restart your PC.
5: Open.minecraft and click 'Mods' folder
6: drag the mods you want in there and close it.
7: Open minecraft with forge and enjoy your mods.

If you want the mods to work they must be compatible with forge.
