How to DOWNLOAD a mod for minecraft?

I looked up on YouTube how to download mc mods. But the only thing that came up was how to install mods. So how do you download a mod from a page/site. I tried but i don't know what site to use because I have never downloaded a mod before.

Well, first off you should probably just find a mod that you want to install.
Then you should find a reliable looking youtube video that shows you how to get that mod, and most likely, the minecraft forum link for the mod should be there, and the video should probably show you where to download it from from within the page.
