I recently downloaded Forge on my brother's mac and my Windows 8 so we could play mods on a lan world. We even downloaded the same mods. Now when he tried to join it fails to connect. When he starts up a lan world I can't even see it. We tried deleting the files of forge and the mods and we still are having the same problem.

Yeah in the recent updates they messed up LAN worlds. Sometimes it works, sometimes not… The only real solutions are to set up a server, or wait for some updates.
